A litte more about The Butchers Blade
Hello, I’m Lee.
If you’ve shopped with us before, there’s a good chance we’ve already met. I’m a proud Sandbachian and have spent more than 25 years working as a butcher in the local area.
My passion has always been great food, traditional butchery and cooking. I started my career as a 14-year-old Saturday lad in a local butcher’s shop and worked my way through the trade, eventually managing butcher shops. But throughout those years, there was always one ambition to open my own butcher’s shop here in my hometown.
Alongside my hands on experience, I studied Food Science and Innovation, giving me a deeper understanding of food production, quality and sustainability. By combining traditional butchery with modern ideas, I’ve been able to develop unique products while working closely with local farmers and trusted suppliers to bring the very best quality meat to our counter.
Our Philosophy
At The Butchers Blade, we believe great meat starts long before it reaches the counter. That’s why we’re passionate about supporting local farms and businesses, sourcing responsibly produced meat and building relationships with suppliers who share our values.
For us, being your local butcher is about more than selling meat. It’s about taking the time to get to know our customers, offering honest advice, sharing cooking tips and helping you choose the right cut for every meal. Whether you’re picking up your weekly essentials or planning a special occasion, we’re here to help.
Experience & Recognition
In 2024, I was incredibly proud to be selected to train with and represent Team GB UK Lions at the World Butchers’ Challenge in Paris – widely regarded as the Olympics of butchery.
Representing my country alongside some of the UK’s finest butchers to compete against teams from around the world was a career highlight. It recognised the passion, skill and dedication I’ve built over the last 25 years, and it’s an experience that continues to inspire everything we do at The Butchers Blade.
The Butchers Blade Today
Since opening our doors in Sandbach Market Hall in 2024, we’ve been proud to become part of the local community. We’ve built our reputation on quality produce, friendly service and taking the time to know our customers by name.
Our counter is always stocked with the traditional cuts you’d expect from a butchers, alongside our own handmade sausages, burgers, ready-to-cook meals and seasonal specials. We love creating new ideas while staying true to the craft and traditions that have always been at the heart of butchery.
Whether you’ve been shopping with us since day one or are visiting for the first time, you’ll always receive a warm welcome.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
